Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization (June 2022), abortion access in the United States is determined entirely by individual state law. This map shows the current legal status of abortion in all 50 states, including gestational limits, key laws, and the location of every Planned Parenthood clinic in the country.
States including California, New York, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Arizona, and others have constitutional or strong statutory protections for abortion access, many with no gestational limit.
States including Florida (6 weeks), Georgia (6 weeks), Iowa (6 weeks), South Carolina (6 weeks), North Carolina (12 weeks), Nebraska (12 weeks), Virginia (~26 weeks), Pennsylvania (24 weeks), Nevada (24 weeks), and New Hampshire (24 weeks) allow abortion up to a defined gestational limit.
States with near-total abortion bans include Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Most allow narrow exceptions for life of the mother.

Traveling across state lines for abortion care is currently legal in all 50 states.
